Daizy's stationery reveal
As promised here is the teacher stationery that I gave you a teaser of last week. I'll bring you through the proofing process.
This has definitely been the most colorful custom project to date for B.IMPRESSED. When Daizy first picked the colors she wanted, I was like yah, and maybe some Kraft, or cream mixed in?!? - but ended up fully embracing the rainbow instead and put my neutral color palette on hold.
The finals were printed with a light graphite colored ink on two tones of turquoise paper and paired with a tangerine envelope.
For the teacher envelopes I incorporated a vintage printers cut of an apple on the flap. The apple was printed with a warm red ink. I am in love with them. If I was in Daizy's class I'd wish for a note every day.
UNION PRESS OPEN HOUSE
On Saturday I went to the Open House for Union Press, run by my friend Eli. The owner Eli and I crossed paths in the letterpress shop at MassArt and he started Union Press while studying at Northeastern. He's full time Union Press since then, rocking the poster world and doing custom printing for clients like Guster. He just expanded into a larger space and had a rockin open house on Saturday. Here are some photos that will make you feel like you kind of went.
I know. Now you totally wish you went.
Bookbinding Workshop at Olives & Grace I will be teaching my second makers workshop at OG on March 19th! Located in the heart of the South End, Olives and Grace is an artisan shop dedicated to supporting emerging artisans (like me!) and makers that live locally teach workshops monthly.
This bookbinding workshop will feature a couple different binding styles, focusing on making a couple small books by the end of the night. Treats and drinks will be served, featuring other makers sold in the shop. Basically the coziest Tuesday night you could dream up.
Date: Tuesday, March 19th Time: 6:00 - 8:30pm Price: $55. (includes all materials and refreshments).
